The Magennis Project — Delano

Two Teacher Construction has built a lot of decks in Delano and the surrounding Twin Cities area. This Cedar Deck for the Magennis family is one we're proud to have in the portfolio — the yard had good space to work with and the end result shows it. The reason cedar holds up in Minnesota is simple chemistry: its natural oils slow moisture absorption. Moisture is what makes wood crack, cup, and warp over time. A properly built cedar deck with good fasteners and a quality finish applied on schedule should last 20-plus years in this climate with reasonable maintenance.
