Edina Deck Builder — Design for Established Homes

Edina is one of the most architecturally varied markets we work in. Country Club tudors, mid-century moderns in Indian Hills, post-war ramblers in Morningside, contemporary remodels near Cornelia. Every deck project has its own unique constraints, and its own opportunities! A deck design that works on a 1950s rambler isn't the design you'd put on a 1990s walkout, and the design that suits a tudor isn't right for a mid-century home.

Two Teacher Construction has been building decks across the Twin Cities since 1996. When we work in Edina, we pay close attention to how the deck reads against the architecture: proportions, materials, color, line. We ensure every deck is a seamless expansion of your unique home.

Our Edina Services

Every Edina home is different, and so is every homeowner. We don't have a stock style we try to impose, we look at your residence, talk through what you want to do with the space, and design something that feels like it really belongs.

Composite is the right call for almost every new build today. We install the full range of premium and mid-range product lines: TimberTech, Azek, Trex, Deckorators, and others. Composite is also the smart move when you're replacing an aging wood deck.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you work in Edina regularly?
Yes. Edina is well within our core service area and we've built projects throughout the city, including near Cornelia, in Morningside, near 50th & France, and in the Indian Hills area.
My house is from the 1950s. Will that complicate things?
Not necessarily, but we'll need to factor in a few things. Older homes can have grade issues, foundation conditions worth checking, and possibly lead paint on existing trim. We're EPA Lead Safe Certified, which matters for pre-1978 homes. We'll walk it with you and flag anything relevant.
Can you match a deck to a specific architectural style?
Yes. We've designed decks to complement tudors, mid-century moderns, ramblers, colonials, and contemporary remodels. The choices that matter: railing style, post detail, deck board direction, and color, all shift based on the home.
Do you pull permits with the City of Edina?
Always. Edina requires a permit for attached decks, and we handle it as part of the project.
What does a deck cost in Edina?
Cost depends on size, material, elevation, railings, and many other factors. Many of our Edina builds land in the premium range because homeowners prioritize higher-grade materials and detailed design, but we work across budgets. Contact us for an estimate specific to your project.
Do you offer financing?
Yes. We work with Hearth, which lets you see loan options without affecting your credit.
How busy are you in peak season?
Spring and early summer fill up early. If you're targeting a usable deck this year, the conversation should start sooner rather than later!
What other communities near Edina do you serve?
Minnetonka, St. Louis Park, Hopkins, Eden Prairie, Bloomington, Richfield, and many other cities in the broader Twin Cities metro.
